Fall Out Boy And Dabel Brothers For Comics Project

Fall Out Boy Teams With Dabel Brothers For Comics Project

Best known for their literary adaptations, the Dabel Brothers will be taking a step in a new direction later this year as they develop a new project with the band Fall Out Boy. As fans of the band and comics know, drummer Andy Hurley is a lifelong comics fan and frequent convention attendee. Hurley will be heading the project, along with bassist Pete Wentz.
The project was negotiated by Dabel Brother’s Business Director Rich Young who explained the origins of the project to Newsarama, saying: “Les [Dabel] and I had conversation early part of last year when we were brainstorming about new project ideas. I told him that I'd always wanted to work with a popular band that was into comics, and gave him a very short list,” Young says. “Fall Out Boy was on that list and so I started making inquiries.”Shortly thereafter, the two parties were talking, Young says. And though the publishers are best known for comic book adaptations of fantasy literature such as Laurell K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake and George R.R. Martin’s The Hedge Knight, Young explains that the opportunity of working with Fall Out Boy is something that Dabel Brothers had been looking for.“Our publishing plan is to continue doing the projects we're known for – working with well-known literary authors, but also to start branching out and diversifying our publishing line up by working with licensors in the music, tv, film, and interactive industries,” Young says, noting that the pairing with Fall Out Boy most likely won’t be the only project they will be doing with a band or musical artist. The finished project will consist of many stories told over the course of two, perfect bound 56-64 page issues due to hit stores in the third of fourth quarter of this year. As for art, Young says that a collection of artists will be pitching in, most notably, Dan Fraga.“Dan’s got a relationship with Pete Wentz, and Pete specifically requested him to come on board, so we got him,” Young says. “We're looking at a few other artists as well, as there will be multiple stories. We'd also like to add all the images so far [as seen with this article] were done by Jeremy Treece who has been doing some really great work for us at Dabel Brothers Publishing. He will probably be attached to the project in some capacity.Young says that the books will ship via Diamond, and that the Dabels are also looking at other avenues to get the book out to the band’s fans. “Whether or not we place additional copies of the issues elsewhere, or do any exclusive editions, remains to be seen,” Young says. “The collection will be distributed via Del Rey/Random House into the bookstore market.“We'll be putting out another update in the near future with more information on the project, so check back with us on our web site. We think the project has a lot of potential...“Also, I should mention Rebecca Cairns at Clandestine Industries, who has been absolutely fantastic to work with and a crucial part in getting pretty much of aspect of this project in motion.”

It always starts..
To hurt when you stick things up there. I'm starting a fresh day some new typings. I've been told my eight finger technique was so good that I had to bring my real life/cyber real flavor back to these very streets, . For those who believed in my skills, who had been there when I slayed 75 Great Whites in typershark, leading the scuba diver to the treasure every time, I commend you. For the rest of you, you know where to fuck off to. You know what to shove and where to shove it. And for knowing, I think I can finally accept your sincerest apologies. Thank You.
Movies, movies, movies. Where are all the good movies? They're bound for the Academy Awards, or as some might call them, cancelled. But I find myself geared towards movies of a different calibre. Here are my "favorite" movies, and how they completley changed my life, FOREVER.
Cloverfield - Even though writer Drew Goddard didn't seem very comfortable admitting what he had once said, that he can sych up 'infinity on high' with 'cloverfield', I'm not the least bit ashamed to admit I threw up during that film. And not just because the monster had inflating/deflating testicles on the side of his head, or that the acting was soooooo fucking amazing.Rambo - Maybe America is falling into the shitter faster than the aftermath of an Arby's 5 for 5 deal, but Rambo still knows how to take American values, shove them right up the Burmese military's collective ass and rip out a bloody, yet beautiful, American flag every time. There were at least 3 crying babies in the theater with me. More babies NEED to see this movie. And more people forget what it feels like to have the surge of America throb in the palm of their hands, and only Stallone has the necessary equipment to make it possible.
Puppies Are Cute: A Special Message to Danielle - I love indie flicks. This is a movie that really documents the ability one has to profess an undying love for a complete stranger (via MySpace), and not skip a beat. Hey there Sundance and Cannes, where in the wide world of fuck were you on this one? Click the link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=igQLmLG0MGU

The Cab Accident

The Cab Is On Petes Label....
DecayDance which where in a bad accident earlier today, Please read there blog from there myspace page.
Dear Friends, Family, and Fans...This morning at around 3 AM, our van slid on a patch of ice on a highway in Wisconsin. The van flipped a few times, and our trailer and van both ended practically upside down in the median of the freeway. I was sleeping in the backseat and was awaken by screaming and yelling, and before I could think or see what was going on the van was rolling and everything AND everyone were flying through the van. The van's TV hit Marshall in the face oushing his teeth through his front lip. My foot was smashed between a guitar amp head and a shattered window, and behind my knee was sliced really deep from broken glass. Cash hurt his knee, and our good friend and tech Drew got pretty beat up and had to get his face glued back together in several faces. Our drummer Alex, also got pretty beat up, as some of our faces were dragged across the highway and snow as we rolled. I am not trying to be too detailed or graphic, but I just want to be honest with you before rumors start flying around about the sitaution. I want everyone to know the truth and exactly what happened. The nurses and doctors in the E.R. were nothing short of amazing to us, and we want to say thanks to the firemen, medics, and strangers who assisted us through the horrible accident. This crash was horrible. Our equipment is ruined, our personal belongings were lost and broken, and our bodies our pretty beat up. However, we are alive and able to walk away from the whole thing. Other people and bands have not been so lucky. We are so grateful to be alive and to all be in our hotels right now resting. I speak for myself and the band when I say that I would like to take this time to thank all of you. Our friends...our family...our fans. You have all been so supportive and we are doing our best to make you proud. Thank you for the phone calls, the web posts, the hugs, and everything else. YOU give us the strength to go on. The Really Really Ridiculously Good Looking tour has been amazng. The fans have really blown us away and the other bands have been extremely generous and fun. We will not let this wreck stop us. We are taking a few days to get our gear in order and to get another van, and then we will be right back on the road ready to play our asses off for you, even if we have to go onstage with casts, scars, and bruises. We wouldn't be able to do it without you. Each and everyone of you and the people that helped us this morning truly are our guardian angels, and we are more thankful for you then you know. We can't wait to post new music soon...we promise we are just excited as you. Thank you all so much again. This blog isn't for sympathy..this blog is just to let you know what's going on in the most honest way possible. We will see you on the road! Also, please be very safe. The roads and weather have been extremely dangerous as of late and we just want to make sure that no one doesn't have to go through what we did. Please just be safe. Wear your seatbelts, dont drink and drive, and drive extra cautious. We love you all and I will be sure to update you guys as soon as I can to let you know what's going on and to keep you in the loop. See you at the shows...Thank you for being our wings when we needed to fly.
